Simple Trust
By Richard
In Matthew 8 we find that the centurion showed a simple trust in Jesus. He recognised that Jesus had the ultimate authority and power, and, importantly, he trusted Jesus to use it for good. Jesus declared that this centurion was leading the way for people from all around the world to come and join the kingdom of God, but he warns Israel, who “grew up in the faith but showed “no faith”, that they would find themselves outside the kingdom. All Jesus seeks is our simple trust and not some complex religiosity. Will we trust Jesus today that he has the power to help us and that he has the desire to use his power for our good.
